Dr. Shemer, Chief of Staff, has been with North Windham Animal Hospital since 2011. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from St. George's University after completing clinical training at Cornell University. Dr. Shemer is passionate about veterinary medicine and has a genuine love for animals, big and small; he sees dogs, cats and exotics.
While providing personal and compassionate care, Dr. Shemer continuously strives to keep the hospital on the cutting edge of medical advances. He has a special interest in surgery, internal medicine, and ultrasound. With unflagging enthusiasm, he values the chance to help animals and make positive changes in the lives of pet owners.
Dr. Shemer resides in Storrs with his wife, two young children, and dog companion of the last 15 years, Shirly. In his free time, he enjoys cycling, hiking, and spending time with his family.
